For the 2013 annual fundraising appeal I wanted to integrate more digital communications. In 2012 we sent one email fundraising appeal along with our standard print letter. I conceptualized this three-part digital campaign, identifying quotes from honorees at our past annual fundraisers that would help engage our newsletter subscribers with The New Press mission and communicate our case for support. Donations are still coming in but we already increased our total year-end giving by almost 20% and our online giving increased more than threefold. Many of the online gifts were from people who receive our newsletters but have not made donations in the past.
