Project Summary: For my Spring 2015 Information Visualization and Presentation class I worked with two other students to create a website that allows users to explore the cost of living in California and see whether recent and proposed minimum wage increases are enough for families to get by.
Method: We used D3 to build radar charts, Tableau for the maps and other charts, and HTML to build the website.
Role: We worked collaboratively to come up with the project idea and identify data sources. In building out the visualizations I took the lead on the D3 visualization and my two collaborators developed the Tableau visualizations. We then worked together to draft text and build out the website.
Impact: We presented this work in a project showcase open to the public.
